Barnardo’s are providing an opportunity for you to undertake this programme. Integral to all our training is a clear focus on children and in particular the importance of listening to the voice of children and ensuring children are safeguarded from harm. We have successfully delivered this programme many times across the country and have had some excellent feedback from our participants. This is a learning opportunity not to be missed as a taxi driver and will provide you with a good knowledge and understanding of your role and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. It  includes information about  some of the signs of sexual exploitation of children and young people and will help you play an important part within the community in recognising risks and reporting any concerns of this nature. Taxi drivers are often the eyes and ears within our community who may spot the signs a child or vulnerable adult  is at risk and you may play an important part in reporting concerns. Recent updates regarding safeguarding to accompany the course (April 21)   We continuously review & update this course to ensure it reflects up to date information on the safeguarding issues highlighted in your learning. We are presently working with Marshalls to produce a new version of the course (this will be with councils in May) In the meantime the present course reflects all requirements for safeguarding in your role. We have included here some additional up to date resources to accompany your learning (please look after yourself when viewing these due to content & issues it highlights around safeguarding issues).
